The Top 5 Things We Hear at Pop-Ups (and Why We Love Them!)

Hi, I’m Megan, founder of League of Friends, a sustainable kids’ clothing brand built on the idea that childhood is best spent surrounded by a little “league” of friends, both big and small.

We spend a lot of weekends at pop-ups and markets meeting the most wonderful people — parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends looking for something special for the little ones in their lives. Over time, we’ve noticed a few questions and comments that come up again and again, and honestly, we love every one of them.

Here are the Top 5 Things We Hear at pop-ups and our favorite ways to answer them.

1. “What does League of Friends mean?”

This one always makes me smile. The name came from a belief that childhood is best when shared with a community, a league, of friends. Our pieces are made to be passed down, shared, and loved by more than one little friend along the way. It’s about connection, belonging, and creating something that lasts far beyond one season or one child.

When you buy a piece from League of Friends, you’re not just getting sustainable, heirloom-quality kids’ clothing. You’re joining a community that believes in fewer, better things made with care.

2. “Does this come in my size? I want to wear it myself!”

We hear this all the time, and honestly, it’s the best compliment. It means we’re achieving our goal: to make timeless, beautifully crafted clothes that even grown-ups would want in their closets.

We may just make them for kids right now, but hey, never say never to an adult line one day.

3. “Where are your products made?”

Our clothing is made in small, family-run factories in Peru and India, where craftsmanship, sustainability, and relationships come first. We’ve personally visited and know the people behind our clothes — the artisans, the knitters, and the families who help bring every piece to life.

In Peru, our partners work closely with farmers who raise the animals for our baby alpaca and wool, and our organic cotton comes from a local Peruvian manufacturer that ensures sustainability from start to finish.

In India, we’ve partnered with a GOTS-certified factory that uses traditional handweaving techniques to create beautiful organic cotton textiles. Every thread tells a story.

4. “I need to buy a baby gift. What size should I get?”

Ah, the eternal question! Everyone loves to buy those tiny newborn sizes (because who can resist them?), but babies grow so fast.

We always recommend gifting size 12–18 months. It gives parents something to look forward to and ensures the baby will get plenty of wear out of it when the time comes. And trust me, a cozy League of Friends sweater or romper always earns the “cutest gift” award.

5. “Wow, that’s expensive for a kid’s sweater. My kid would just ruin it.”

We get it. Kids live in their clothes. They climb, crawl, spill, and explore. That’s exactly why we make ours to last.

Every piece is durable, washable, and designed to be passed down to siblings, cousins, or friends. When something’s made well, it’s not just about how long it lasts in your closet. It’s about how many memories it collects along the way.

We believe in fewer, better pieces that your kids will love wearing and that you’ll feel proud to pass on to the next generation.
